Dialup Networking Setup Instructions for Windows 95

You may find it convenient to print out these instructions so that you may refer them while setting up your Internet connection.

Setting Up Your Modem

If you have reached here from the "Internet Setup Wizard", skip to step 2.

1. Click on Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Modems. If you see the screen in step 2, then continue.
2. Click on Next to setup a modem.
   
   
3. In the "Install New Modem" screen

   Leave the "Don't run the Hardware installation" box unchecked.

   Click on Next

   
   
   
4. Click on Next to start the "Add New Hardware Wizard"
   
   
5. Click on Next again to see a warning screen
   
   
6. Click on Next one more time to start the wizard
   
   

7. As the screen says, this step will take a while. Depending on the speed of your system you should alternatively have time to get a cup of coffee, or maybe even make a pot of the stuff.

   
   
   
8. Click on your browser's "Back" button to continue.
